Based in Colorado during the summers and migrating to the Florida Keys for the winters, Sharon lives the life of a 'baby snowbird,' embracing the diverse landscapes and energies that enrich her work. Her art is characterized by its abstract beauty intertwined with more realistic focal points. She draws her inspiration from meditation, nature, and her dreams.
For many years, Sharon hesitated to claim the title of artist, feeling it was a mantle reserved for others. However, through embracing self-acceptance, she has found joy and liberation in identifying as an artist, a transformative process that has allowed her to express her most authentic self.
She believes her artistic endeavors are best explained with a quote by Albert Camus that struck her after her first art show: “Once you’ve given up on existentialism and grown out of nihilism, all that’s left is to embrace the absurdity.” This philosophy now permeates her life and work, encouraging her to explore the absurdity and beauty of life through her art.
